Every home tells a story through its spaces—and for Anusha’s residence in Hyderabad, the story is one of refined simplicity, functional design, and subtle rooted touches that reflect a contemporary lifestyle grounded in traditional Indian values. The interiors throughout the home are designed with a modern-minimalistic theme, where clean lines, muted color palettes, and intentional voids allow breathing space and natural flow.

At the heart of this home is its modular kitchen, designed by ARC Infra not only as a cooking zone but also as a multifunctional family hub. Merging Scandinavian-style restraint with Indian practicality, this kitchen beautifully extends the home’s overarching design theme.

🧩 Design Philosophy: Form, Function & Family First in Arc Infra Interiors

The brief was clear—create a space that reflects a modern mindset but doesn’t compromise on family bonding. The kitchen had to serve both daily functionality and emotional utility—a place to prep, cook, chat, and dine.

ARC Infra proposed an L-shaped kitchen with an integrated six-seater dining area, optimized within a limited layout. The design was guided by three pillars:

  1. Visual Clarity: No heavy patterns, no cluttered visuals

  2. Functionality: Smart, modular storage and workflow

  3. Connection: A shared space to cook and dine together

The cabinetry uses a calm sage green matte finish below and slate grey upper units, echoing the home’s minimal color tones. The seamless white quartz counter and clean backsplash reflect the house's love for understated elegance.

📐 Drawings & Technical Layouts: Precision in Every Line

In modern homes, design isn’t just about how it looks—it's how it works. The ARC Infra team started with meticulous architectural drawings, including:

Kitchen Working Layout:

  • L-shaped plan with 3 work zones: cooking, prep, and cleaning

  • Appliance zones clearly marked for accessibility and ventilation

  • Dining table orientation drawn to scale with ergonomic spacing

Modular Cabinet Elevations:

  • Base, mid, and upper cabinet heights laid out as per anthropometry

  • Detailed elevation with location of drawers, open shelves, and tall units

  • Built-in appliance stack (oven, microwave) integrated vertically to save space

Lighting & Electrical Plan:

  • Ceiling pendant light marked centrally above dining

  • Under-cabinet lighting positions defined

  • Plug points specified for all appliances including mixer, hob, and fridge

These detailed drawings not only guided production but ensured flawless coordination between factory-made modular units and on-site civil work.

🛠️ Execution Journey: From Drafts to Details

With design locked, we moved into the execution phase, maintaining the home’s core theme—simple forms, subtle details, and efficient systems.

📌 Materials & Finishes:

  • Carcass: BWR plywood with waterproof lamination

  • Shutters: Matte laminate (dust-resistant and fingerprint-proof)

  • Countertop: Pure white quartz

  • Hardware: Hettich soft-close drawers, tandem boxes, bottle pull-outs

  • Sink & Tap: Under-mount stainless steel with matte black faucet

🧰 Installation Highlights:

  • Precut modulars were installed using laser leveling tools

  • L-corner joint treated with stone epoxy for seamless finish

  • Lighting embedded pre-wiring for clean look

  • Dining zone completed with custom-built solid wood table and sleek black chairs

🚧 On-Site Challenges & Creative Solutions

🔧 Issue 1: Window-Cabinet Clash

The window height clashed with the upper cabinets on the left.

✅ Fix: We redesigned the cabinet start point and adjusted curtain mounts, ensuring both function and aesthetics were maintained.

🔧 Issue 2: Dining Table Congestion

The dining table was overwhelming the walking space near the sink.

✅ Fix: We switched to a long, narrow table with slim-profile chairs and added a textured rug to visually ground it without crowding the area.

🔧 Issue 3: Chimney Duct Visibility

Exposed chimney ducting risked spoiling the clean finish.

✅ Fix: We created a custom false boxing in matching laminate, hiding the duct and integrating it with the wall cabinetry.

🌿 Rooted Minimalism: Bringing It All Together

As with the rest of the home, the kitchen celebrates natural elements and clean finishes:

  • A corner plant adds greenery without intrusion

  • Minimalist ceramic jars and open shelves add charm

  • A large globe pendant light adds softness and ties in with the earth-toned dining rug

Everything here speaks to a modern-minimalistic home design with a hint of nostalgia—where the kitchen remains a place of gathering and comfort.
